Disney

We took the girls to Walt Disney World for their 5th birthday. We left the Saturday before Thanksgiving and came back on Black Friday. We had a marvelous time! The lines were long, the food expensive and the sun was shining. What better time to be had???? My mom came over from St. Pete and we went to Sea World, that was great. I actually got bitten by a dolphin. I know, only me, right??? He thought I was going to feed him, and well, I didn't have any food. He got me, no sharp teeth, but really really hard ones. It was like a dog nipping at you, trying to tell my to bug off if I don't have any food. On Thanksgiving we went to Tampa to see Jeremy's aunt and uncle. His mom came down from Atlanta with his niece. We ate with around 60 people we didn't know. What a fun time! It really was great fun to see the girls interact with all these people who seemed to think they were the best thing since sliced bread. When we got home I couldn't believe the laundry. I also couldn't believe the credit card bill!!! OMG!!!! Oh well, you only do that once, right???? I know, I know.....

Snot

So between my nose, Jeremy's nose (which is in Italy now) and Emma & Abby's nose we are full of snot at this house. I just heard another snot ball fly through the air as I type. Even the dog has snot. Warning...do not inhale while visiting the Shiflett House.

Trick or Treat

We had a really great time going Trick-or-treat in our new neighborhood. Abby fell once, Emma fell once and of course Mommy fell once! I guess it really is true: like mother like daughter. Emma and Abby really racked up on candy this year. Oh my! Here is a nice pic of them at school.

Family

So, we made it through the weekend without anyone getting hurt. We had a birthday party for my step-mom this weekend and the only thing she asked for was for all the kids to be together. Well...sometimes blood is shed when my SIL and I get together. She thinks I'm perfect and a snot while I think she's...well, I won't go there. Anyways, it went really really well. The kids played so nicely together, no one was maimed and things were hunkydory! I'm kinda surprised at how well they went. I'm a neat(read control) freak and it makes me nervous to have 11 people in my house for an entire weekend. I actually had a great time. I told myself beforehand, self, you need to just let it go, it's just a house. It worked!!!! I actually don't mind if they come back, later...much later...

Wow! I haven't been a very good blogger lately have I??? I am a bad bad blogger. Things have been very busy here. Just a lot of stuff to do lately. The girls going to school every day and me with nothing to do...very time consuming. Jeremy graduated with his MBA and now it's my turn to start my masters with a vengence. I'm going to Ball State to get my masters in administration. We've all been fighting with our allergies, snot and sneezing. Lovely! We are getting excited for our trip to Disney in November for the week of Thanksgiving. Fun times!!! I'll try to be a better blogger!

boring

Not a lot going on lately. We've been busy with everyday stuff. The girls start school tomorrow, PreK, M-F 12:30-2:45. I'm excited for them as they are excited to start. I'll be able to post more now I won't have to worry about one of them bopping the other on the head or strangling each other with their dress up necklaces. I'm hoping this time at school will be good for all 4 of us, that includes Marmaduke. I'll be back....

Nothing but joy in Brandyland

I am 3 days in without J and I am going banannas! I haven't slept in 2 nights because of fear of the unknown while my husband is flying across the world. Then last night the thunder and my darling daughter and her talking in her sleep. Hopefully tonight I will sleep like a log and will become refreshed for tomorrow. Things are okay here, but I do miss J and the girls sure do too. I just finished reading James Patterson's latest and I have to tell you I am a little surprised at how horrible the book was. It was purely lame. Sunday's at Tiffany's isn't worth your time.

8 years of Bliss

Today was our anniversary. We've been married for 8 years. 8 wonderful years... I was thinking back this morning as I woke to the morning I was getting married. I laid in bed that morning thinking about all that had to be done and all that I would have to do to get it done. I was so excited. As I laid in bed this morning all I could think about was that I didn't want to get out of bed. So different than that morning 8 years ago, huh? After 8 years and twins I just didn't want to get out of bed...Get out of bed is what I did, that was only because Abby wanted breakfast (darn her) and Marmaduke wanted outside. If only they could be self sufficient on the days I want to stay in bed! I have my root canal tomorrow, that's my anniversary present to myself. I did get flowers from J and they are beautiful and very much appreciated. I wasn't expecting them at all. I'm looking forward to 8 more years of Bliss!!!!

Shower door update

Yay! I finally have a shower door!!!!! I will post a pic of it as soon and I get the urge to go downstairs and use the camera.
I have had a very painful toothache since the 4th of July. It seems to be sitting in my sinus and causing undo stress to my head. Since I am a momma and I get no sick days, my children have been treading on my last and final nerve. Jeremy is somewhere "working" in Wisconsin/Detroit/Chicago and doesn't know when he'll be home. We'll make it, though because I'm a momma!!!!! (Oh Lord, hear my plea!!!!!) I have my root canal scheduled for Wednesday of next week. I'll let you know how it goes....

shower door drama

Sooo, this house we bought didn't come with a shower door for the master. The house is brand new and no one has lived in it yet. We asked the builder and he said he doesn't buy them for any of his houses. I went on the hunt for a shower door at the beginning of May. We still don't have one. I finally went with Lowe's after a long debate (yeah, right) on who to go with. Lowe's was the cheapest. No wonder, huh? The first door to come in was too short and on Friday they come with the "right" door and it's too tall. The installer is a piece of work himself and I just want a shower door. Is that too much to ask? I mean really.....

Settling in

So we've moved into our new home. We've gotten rid of the boxes and the garage looks like a war zone. The girls are really enjoying having a playroom again and I enjoy having all my stuff. Speaking of stuff, we have too much of it. We've lived without so much of it for 8 months that I feel like we don't really need it. I've already gone to Goodwill a thousand times.
We are really happy with the house and the neighborhood. We had the neighbors across the street over yesterday for a little cook out. We don't have grass in the backyard yet, so it makes it difficult to play back there. The girls finally got their swingset back from gma and gpas house. I'm still working on my masters and have been taking a 5 week class during all this moving stuff. It's been rough but I can see the light...

Not a bad weekend

We haven't really done a lot this weekend. We're gearing up for the next 2 weekends, I think. Ran errands on Saturday and played outside on Sunday. The girls are really into making new friends where ever we are. They are playing with this little 2nd grader down the street today. They think she is "it". Not too sure momma wants her little girls playing with such an older girl...oh well...
We go tomorrow for the walk-thru of the house. I'm excited, but nervous. With everything that has happened with houses so far, I don't want to get giddy, just yet. I'll get giddy on Thursday around 2:30pm.

Emma Funny

Just a little funny from Emma tonight...
We were riding home from dinner with my dad and Tammy. Emma had a surgical glove balloon and she was licking it. Jeremy told her to stop and get it away from her mouth. She kissed it and he said, "If you put it near your mouth again, I'm going to take it from you and pop it." Emma's reply was, "If you don't look back here you won't see me put it near my mouth, now will you?" I about died. Good thing I was acting like I was asleep!!!!

New house

Finally, maybe we have a place to call house! We have been trying very hard to call this condo home, but it's been hard. Those of you who know me well, know that I am a bit of a neat freak. Having a small little place with 3 children (yes, jeremy is included) and a dog with lots and lots of stuff is hard. It's gotten to where I don't care if it gets cleaned up because it won't last but 5 minutes. So, anyway, we put an offer on a house and the offer has been accepted. I am about to wake the girls up for school and after I drop them off I will be going to meet the inspector. I'm excited, but not getting too excited. Things have had a way of sliding off track lately with these houses. I will be excited when I have the keys in hand. I'll post some pics later of the house. Or maybe I should wait until I have a mortgage to go with the pics...

First time

Wow! I'm really online with a blog for the family. Never thought it would happen.
